Magnificent Georgian style mansion built 1879 to 1880 for Edmund Bowman Jr at a cost of 30,000 pounds, designed by London architect Ebenezer Gregg. Features 32 rooms including a seven room cellar with extraordinary Italianate interiors. State Heritage listed 1980 and National Heritage listed 2017. Mintaro is the only town in Australia with National Heritage listing. Famous as a filming location for Picnic at Hanging Rock. Self guided tours, weddings and events on Ngadjuri country.
